Nusa Ceningan – Guide & Insights
Nusa Ceningan - Where to stay
Before, tourists only visit Ceningan for a half-day tour and prefer staying in Lembongan as it has more choices of accommodation. However, Ceningan serves as an extension to Nusa Lembongan for some room to find seclusion in paradise. Accommodation on Ceningan island include beachside bungalows and hotels now found along the west side of the island.
Hotel & Resorts
Accommodation
There are only a handful of places to stay in Ceningan, as opposed to the larger Nusa Lembongan where most of the action is. However, if you’re looking to get away from everything and enjoy the stillness of nature along the ocean waves, a couple hotels and villas are available in the area. Seclusion at its finest, quiet nights to relax, Ceningan is the place to stay for a time further away from the mainland.
Accomodation
Culinary
Food options are relatively limited in this area. Still, there are a number of places to eat and drink around the area. Since the island is quite walkable, it’s not difficult to find a restaurant to enjoy your time in Ceningan.
Going out
Nightlife
Some of the exquisite cafes, bars, or beach clubs have live music shows at night. The restaurants also have jazz, reggae or traditional music shows once/twice a week. It’s an amazing social scene in the afternoons when enjoying a nice cocktail and the party atmosphere, while other beach clubs around the island are more intimate.
Going out
Beaches and Surf
Beaches near the yellow bridge are relatively safe for swimming, but any water sports in the Blue Lagoon is strictly forbidden. There’s a surfing spot called Mahana Point, and even diving boards if you’re just looking to enjoy your afternoons in the water. However there is a secret beach that lives up to its name, it’s up to you to find it.

Activities
In this small island of 3 square kilometres, you’ll still manage to find fun things to do around Nusa Ceningan. Cliff jumping in Blue Lagoon is a huge activity that people partake in, as dangerous as it may sound, however there are varying heights in which they can jump off. Thrilling, however scary, but it’s part of the fun in this beautiful lagoon of blue waters surrounded by rocky cliffs. Besides cliff jumping, there is also a bar where you can rest for the afternoon or even zipline, just for the heck of it, because why not? Finally, visiting the Yellow Bridge that allows access from Nusa Lembongan and its significant place in the island’s history.
Must Know
Nusa Ceningan is a part of Bali, Indonesia, a developing country, which means that health care, environmental conservation, and infrastructure are not the best in the world. We believe that every visitor can support a more sustainable form of tourism by spending responsibly as well as protecting the environment and its people. The number of health facilities are very limited, mostly only small clinics serving locals, so if something serious happens, you most likely need to go back to Bali main island.
Transportation
There is no direct boat trip to Ceningan Island, as most of the boat companies drop off travelers on Nusa Lembongan. Because it’s such a small island compared to the other two next to it, you can explore the island just by walking or riding a scooter that you can find in Nusa Lembongan.
